<br />
I'm sorry I haven't updated the blog in a while. It's pretty crazy when one comes home from the mission, eh?<br />
<br />
The last day in Chile, we went to the mission home for our "last supper." We had a fast and testimony meeting before dinner and I felt like the whole room was on fire with the Spirit. It was really wonderful to see the change and growth that we had experienced in these 18 months to 2 years. After dinner all the sisters decided to take advantage of the little time left we had in Chile and we left to contact people in the street and walk around the construction site of the temple (the temple grounds are right in front of the mission home)<br />
We talked to the construction workers and shared our appreciation for their work. When we arrived at the main entrance of the site, to our surprise the elders were also there! We took some pictures then had the inspiration to sing in front of the temple for the workers there. We sang <i>Families Can Be Together Forever, </i><i>I Love To See the Templ</i>e and <i>The Spirit of God</i>. There wasn't a dry eye. I felt such a gratitude for the temple and the Plan of Salvation. Families <u>CAN</u> be together forever through the promises that we make in the temple with Heavenly Father. The temple is like a light house that guides us back to His side.<br />

<br />
There's been some pretty mixed emotions. I feel like I never left and that a lot of time has passed at the same time. I'm happy to be with my family but I left half my heart in Chile. I love the people so much. I really came to see people through the eyes of Heaven. Heavenly Father is always aware of the needs and desires of his children.<br />
<br />
I'll miss the mountains and the forests. I'll miss the rickety micros and the street venders. I'll miss the caring and talkative neighbours and people in the streets. I'll miss inviting people the follow Jesus Christ through baptism. I'll miss my companions and all the things that they taught me. I'll miss the joy that fills your soul when an investigator comes to church for the first time or the tears shed as we poured out are hearts in prayer. My only desire was to help others feel the love that Heavenly Father feels for them and that is what I will continue to do.<br />
<br />
It saddens me to say goodbye to the country that I called home and the people that I have come to love. I know that the mission never really ends. We should have the nametag carved on our hearts. We should always remember to invite other to come to Christ; to share the tidings of great joy as did the prophets of old:<br />
<br />
<span class="verse"><u><b>Moroni 10:32</b></u> </span><i>Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.</i><br />
<br />
<span class="verse"><b><u>2 Nephi 9: 23</u></b> </span><i>And he commandeth all men that they must repent, and be baptized in his name, having perfect faith in the Holy One of Israel, or they cannot be saved in the kingdom of God.</i><br />
<br />
It would be a wonderful thing to be there with Heavenly Father after this life; to fall into His arms and embrace Him. It would be even better if we were there in that moment with all our family and friends. This is what I desire. I want to see you all there in the Celestial Kingdom!<br />
<br />
If you feel lost, or forgotten, pour your heart out in prayer to Him. He will guide you. If you have questions, there are answers. There are many tools that God has given us to guide our way. The scriptures, family, church leaders, priesthood blessings, the Holy Spirit. Seek after these good things.<br />
<br />
I love you all. Remember who you are and the purpose of this life. Have an eternal perspective.<br />

See You in 3 Days!Mom's Note....<br />
<br /><br />
Hermana Jakob will not be able to write home tomorrow because she will be travelling to the mission home in Concepcion in preparation for her return home Tuesday evening. She will be flying into Toronto Pearson International Airport before 1pm on Wednesday afternoon, if all her connecting flights go well (fingers crossed X and prayerful pleadings!).<br />
<br /><br />
We got to see and talk to her through Skype this afternoon with her companion for a Mother's Day treat and I said I would relay her thoughts for her as her letter home this week. She promises once she is home, she will share more stories and pictures to her blog which she didn't have time to do previously.<br />
<br /><br />

<br /><br />
Hermana Jakob was tearful as she expressed her love for the people of Chile and her gratitude for the time she has had these past 18 months to serve and share her beliefs about Jesus Christ and learn Spanish - like a pro, I might add, so much so that she has a Latin lilting to her voice when she speaks and says English feels foreign to her after all this time.<br />
<br /><br />
Her and her companion sang a Mother's Day song for me in Spanish which was really pretty. <br />
<br /><br />
She will leave a piece of her heart behind in Chile forever as her thoughts and prayers will always return to the friends she has made and the people she has met and come to love as she has taught, prayed for and served them. This is the hardest part of coming home for a missionary, because after all the wonderful experiences and struggles that they go through, the love they develop for what they do and the people they meet becomes like the feeling of family to them while they are away from home and it changes their lives so profoundly that they will never be the same again. Her experiences will impact her in so many positive and sustaining ways for the rest of her life. In many ways, this has prepared her for adulthood, independent living and how to be a good contributing citizen of the world while having learned to rely on God through faith by trusting Him in all things. <br />
<br /><br />
She is excited to come home on Wednesday and see her friends and family, yet nervous to see all the changes and a little apprehensive for the big life decisions to consider for the future. Leaving one place she has learned to call home for the past 18 months and returning to the home she's always known is bittersweet, a little sadness for things that are ending yet sweet for reunions with loved ones missed. <br />
<br /><br />
One thing is for sure, this girl is amazing! We love her a lot and know that she will excel in anything she puts her mind to. She has an unconquerable and determined friendly spirit and will do many great things in her lifetime, whatever new path she may travel. We look forward to seeing what new adventures await our beloved Hermana Jakob.<br />

EL Sabado (Saturday) we went to help out a member. She has a HUGE backyard...about 10 acres and we helped her plant beans for the next harvest. She is 73 years old and does everything by hand, by herself! It´s safe to say that I now know how to plant a big garden! It´s going to be amazing! She gave us about 8 kilos de manzanas (apples). We´re happy because we don´t have to buy food this week. :)</div>

<div>
Last week was a little hard. I knew it was a test of our faith because there is always a test before the miracle occurs. This week we found a lot of beautiful families to teach! We decided to contact people with pictures of our families, (you guys are famous in Angol!) and it worked well to help break the ice and show people the blessings that Heavenly Father has in store for us. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Andrea, Alex and their daughter are a joven (young) family that were very interested when they heard that families can be together forever. I just love the Plan of Salvation and the esperanza (hope) that it brings into our lives. It helps us to understand the ¨why's?¨ of life and the role of Jesus Christ and His Atonement.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This week a member named Barbara had her baby! She asked us to be there because she doesn´t really have anyone in her family to support her. We weren't allowed to be in the room when he was born but we went in to greet little Fernando soon after. </div>

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I still don´t believe that it´s all ending this week! I feel like I still have another month left. I know that the mission won´t end when I am done. I´ll still be a missionary at heart even though I don´t have the nametag and official calling. I love being a missionary! I love sharing the gospel! </div>

<div>
Bueno, this week we did a bunch of cool things. <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1492837518" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ"><span style="color: #222222;">On Friday</span></span></span> we went to Purén to help out at a home for the Elderly. We painted their fence white and painted cartoons from Disney and the flags of our home countries. The viejitos (elderly) were so happy to see us. It started to rain halfway through the service project but happily, nothing happened to our paint job! The Elders moved a HUGE pile of firewood from the backyard to a shed and others took apart a green house and harvested the potatoes that were planted there. Everyone was dead beat tired in the end but the ride home in the bus was about and hour and a half long, so we ere well recuperated for the afternoon!</div>

We are currently teaching a young woman named Mariana. She was born with... I can´t remember the name of it but she uses a wheel chair. She´s a really sweet girl with a big desire to help others and loves the Lord. We´re going to invite her to share some of her experiences in the Principios del Evangelio (Gospel Principles) class to help her get more involved with the church and the members. We´ll be visiting her today with one of the YSA (Yound Single adult members) that recently moved from Santiago to Angol.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
There was a lot of rain this week, with sun...so we´ve saw a lot of rainbows! It was really beautiful. Actually, the day the we took the picture of the rainbow, we had a ¨rescate¨(rescue) activity with all the leaders of the ward here. We prayed over names of some of the less active members that haven´t been to church in a while and made a list of families we should visit. Then we divided up and visited them. The turnout was great! It was an awesome experience for the members and for the missionaries, so that we could see the success that missionary work has when we work together.</div>

This week was pretty awesome. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It rained for three days straight. I use to hate the rain. The mission has taught me to love it. Everything is so clean and the air is fresh afterwards.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Yup! I'm still a little goofy and having fun! :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUt5MgWhseeXwHQtgFVMzJHToQm1OLWLuGguM1N6lZYgEpMcjLMpAlaVpchWweLvm1GhNy-maPOSecy1WK0CpGfsEGR5qrV_K2v3esBphunKc3hixJdIeHv_tbiZjMbDq3c9mSVISWe6wv/s1600/pic50.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUt5MgWhseeXwHQtgFVMzJHToQm1OLWLuGguM1N6lZYgEpMcjLMpAlaVpchWweLvm1GhNy-maPOSecy1WK0CpGfsEGR5qrV_K2v3esBphunKc3hixJdIeHv_tbiZjMbDq3c9mSVISWe6wv/s640/pic50.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We had interviews with our new mission president. To be honest I was a little nervous because I didn´t have the same confidence with him as I did with President Bluth. However, as we began the interview I could feel the love that he has for us and missionary work. I had a bunch of questions about what I should do these last three weeks. I was pretty stressed out because everyone was telling me different things and all I wanted to do was focus on the work here. He told me to pray for the strength to focus my thoughts on el campo misional (the mission field) and start making my plans for my life when I´m on the plane home. I could feel all the stress leave and I can say that I have more energy than I did before! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Yesterday we had another miracle! We felt that we should have visited a part-member family. They´ve been less active for a long time and we were running out of ideas and plans to help them come back. Their daughter Connie, has had the desire to be baptized for a long time now and when she prays, she always asks that Heavenly Father can help her whole family come back to church and that He can help her be baptized. She has such a pure spirit. Anyways, last night we were talking with the grandmother, when Connie and her mom Karen arrived from their trip in the south. Karen saw us in the living room, walked to the centre of the room and with tears in her eyes said, ¨I want to come back to church!" She said that their vacation was beautiful but she felt that something was missing. When she saw us, she realized what it was. We ran to her and gave her a big hug. Connie jumped up and started dancing and yelling, ¨I won´t be going to church alone anymore!¨ We were all crying tears of joy. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I know that Heavenly Father is always aware of us and our needs and desires, even the little children. He hears each and everyone of our prayers.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This experience also reminded me of the talk from General Conference about spiritual rescue. Never give up! <a href="https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2016/04/to-the-rescue-we-can-do-it?lang=spa" target="_blank"><span style="color: #1155cc;">https://www.lds.org/general-<wbr></wbr></span>conference/2016/04/to-the-<wbr></wbr>rescue-we-can-do-it?lang=spa</a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
To all the shy people out there that feel they don´t have the talents or ability to share the gospel. I invite you to read this article and reflect on how you can overcome fear.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<a href="https://www.lds.org/liahona/2016/04/youth/even-if-youre-shy?lang=spa" target="_blank"><span style="color: #1155cc;">https://www.lds.org/liahona/<wbr></wbr></span>2016/04/youth/even-if-youre-<wbr></wbr>shy?lang=spa</a><br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Thanks for everyone that has been writing me and giving me encouragement! I wish I could write each and everyone personally! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Love you all lots! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>

Knocking doors, we found another miracle! Nielson is his name. He is 40 years old and wants to change his life. He´s felt that he´s in a standstill and that there´s something missing. We shared a bit of the doctrine of Jesus Christ and taught him how to pray. After praying he shared with us that he was super agradecido (grateful) that we passed by his house because he could feel a peace that he needed. We explained that the peace he felt was the Holy Spirit. Nielson invited himself to church and has a lot of interest in the Restuaracion (Restoration). We´ll be visiting him <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_716319012" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ"><span style="color: #222222;">tomorrow</span></span></span> with the Bishop!</div>
<div>
I know that only through living the evangelio (gospel) we can find true happiness. Living the Gospel isn´t always easy, but it´s easier than anything else!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This week we helped clean the backyard of a lady that the other sisters are teaching (there are 4 of us Sisters in the ward). I love that all the people here have a lot of fruit trees and grape vines. Gabriela gave us a TON of grapes and apricots. I think I´m going to turn purple like the girl in Willy Wonka from all the grapes we´ve been eating! jajaja!</div>

We ate at a restaurant this week with a family from the ward. It´s called El Quincho (it means BBQ shed or smokehouse). The restaurant is really cool because it´s decorated all rustic like with a bunch of artisan madera (wood) and cosas mapuche (Mapuche made things - the Mapuche are the indigenous people of south central Chile and south western Argentina) . The food is to die for! Aaaaaannd I found a Chilean cook book so we can make lots of delicious food when I get back! </div>

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Guess what! I´m training again!!! I´m so happy that I get to train on my last transfer! I secretly wanted to train and end with a Latin companion and Heavenly Father cumplió mis deseos! (fulfilled my desires - gave me my wish) Hermana Peña is from Santiago. She´s about 5 feet tall, hahah and is the sweetest girl I know! She comes from a large family of seven (lucky number!) Hermana Peña is the best friend of Hermana Fres (we lived together in the house) and Hermana Fres showed me a photo of her the week before. Can you imagine my surprise when I was assigned to be her trainer?! xD! She is a professional cueca dancer. If you´re not sure what the cueca is, look it up of Youtube.</div>

There´s a Hermana in the ward that makes vestido de Huasa (Huasa dress) for the sister missionaries. She´s going to sew one for me! Yay! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I loved General Conference! Why didn´t I pay more attention to conference before my mission? It really is a time to spiritually recharge. I love so many of the talks given but I like Elder Holland´s talk at the end. To remember that we won´t always be able to maintain a spiritual high but we can try our best, and Heavenly Father blesses those who try with all their might to improve. </div>

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We had an after-conference miracle. We met a gentleman, Mario, on the street and scheduled an appointment to visit him <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1961998458" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ"><span style="color: #222222;">Sunday evening</span></span></span>. We passed by his house and there weren´t any lights on so we assumed that he was sleeping. Right when we were ready to leave, he opened the door and invited us to sit on his front porch. We learned that he took care of his sick mom for the most part of his life and that she had died about 4 years ago. This caused him mucho tristeza (sadness). We shared a bit of the Plan of Salvation and extended the invitation to be baptized. He accepted right away!... And invited himself to church! Heavenly Father really has prepared Mario. The sad thing is, we realized that his house se queda (stays - is situated) in the Elder´s sector :( </div>
<div>

(Hello my dear ones!)<br />

<div>
Sorry for not writing last week. We took a trip to a national park and we didn´t have time to write afterwards. It was really cool! The national park is called ¨Nahuelbuta.¨ There´s is a breath taking look out called ¨The Eagle´s Rock. The day was so clear that we could see a panoramic view from la Cordillera (the mountains) to the sea! It was so silent and tranquillo (still) that we just sat on the rock for about an hour meditating and taking in the view.</div>

In the park there are araucaria trees that are over 1000 years old! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The weird thing about the park is that it was deadly silent. There aren´t a lot of animals or birds and most of the animals that do live there hide when humans pass by. All the trees there are covered in hanging moss, like in the southern states. It was kind of cool to walk through the park and think of all the Lamanites and Nephites that could have walked through these parts of the world!</div>

We also had an amazing conference for the mission. Un setenta (a member of the Seventy) spoke about the importance of being a PMG (Preach My Gospel - the manual missionaries use to help them teach and serve people) missionary and the role of the Holy Ghost when we are sharing the message of the gospel. I invite you all to read the talk by Elder Bednar ¨Becoming a Preach My Gospel Missionary,¨ because it not only applies to missionaries but to whoever has a calling as a teacher, (mother, father, seminary teacher, primary teacher, etc...)</div>

Today we have transfers! Hermana Stone is leaving El Mirador to finish the training of a sister in Lebu. Hermana Stone is a machine! She feels a little overwhelmed but I know she´ll do a great job! I´ll be training again! YAYAY! I am SO happy! I secretly wanted to train again because it is such a beautiful experience to receive a new missionary full of light and hope and help them begin the missionary experience. </div>

One of my best friends in the mission, Hermana Gallegos, finished her mission this week too. It´s hard to say goodbye. We´ve passed through so much together and she taught me how to love unconditionally, without judging. I hope we can see each other again. </div>

That´s all the news for this week! I´ll keep you posted and send you pics of my new hija! (daughter - what they called a newbie straight out on the mission)</div>

Love you all! </div>

<br /><br />
We didn't hear from Hermana Jakob on Monday. As a mom it was a little unnerving but we assumed that no news is good news. However, she did contact us with a one line email the next day telling us that all is well and that she and her companion had to travel for a zone conference and did not have any time to email home. She said she will catch us up to speed next Monday..... I'm holding her to it! It is now a sprint to the finish! Hola Queridos!<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This week was a whirlwind of events but it feels like all the work we are doing is starting to fall into place. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This week we were asked to sing at a funeral. A sister in the ward works for a cemetery selling plots and hosting burial ceremonies. Nacy is really cool. Every day she has to opportunity to share the gospel because of the nature of her work. Anyway, the funeral was for the previous bishop of El Mirador. His baby died about 5 months ago in Concé and they were moving the casket closer to home. He and his wife are angry with God right now and don´t want anything to do with religion but Hermana Nacy was very bold in inviting us. We sang "Where Can I Turn For Peace" and it felt like the whole park was filled with a tranquilidad (tranquility). The mom gave us a big hug after and thanked us. It was terribly sad but I´m so happy that we have a knowledge of the Plan of Salvation and that families can perpetuate beyond the grave and know that their baby is in peace. How wonderful it is, that the Atonement of Jesus makes this possible. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This week, a family in the ward invited us to a festival of the culinary arts - Chileno style. It was DELICIOUS!!! We ate empanadas, anticucho (shish-kabobs), and Mote con huesillo (?). We got a chance to get to know some of the workers there and the bomberos (firemen). </div>

<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1637356351" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ"><span style="color: #222222;">On Saturday</span></span></span> the other companionship here had a baptism. We sang ¨Joseph Smith´s First Prayer.¨ and Elder Walker accompanied us. We sing a lot in the ward, Hermana Stone and I, but it´s interesting to see that it changes the setting and creates an atmosphere where the Holy Ghost can dwell. Bishop was very wise when he gave us the suggestion to use our talents as much as we can. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We had a conference for all of Chile <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1637356352" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ"><span style="color: #222222;">this Sunday</span></span></span> and they talked a lot about keeping the commandments and finding joy in the journey of life even when things get tough. It reminded me a lot of the Book of Mormon and the experiences of the Nephites and Lamanites. We really aren´t all that different from them. They had problems in their families too. They had wars, they had corrupt governments, they had fears and hopes and dreams. One promise rings trues for us as it did for them. If you keep the commandments of God, you will prosper in the land. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Love you lots!</div>

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I am so happy for all the creations that Heavenly Father has made for us! Chile right now is FULL of fresh fruit trees. When we´re walking in the street and feel a little hungry, all we have to do is pull a fresh peach or fig from a nearby tree. It´s the best! I think I´m addicted figs! </div>

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
My companion this week contacted a man on the street. She asked where he lived and he said that lived in the prison. Hermana Stone didn´t understand so she responded, ¨Oh perfect! Can we visit you and your family?¨ LOL!... the look on the guys face was priceless and he began to laugh! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>

<div>
Brother Salvador came to church! He´s from Panama and has been living here in Chile for 12 years. He´s a bit of an eternal investigator and we were trying to think of a way that would help him have a spiritual experience. Hermana Stone felt inspired to sing a hymn for him (just so you know she´s trained classically and sings like the lead star of Phantom of the Opera!). We sang ¨Where Can I Turn For Peace" and after the second word, he started to cry and the room was filled with the Spirit. Then we read 3 Nephi, chapter 11 when Jesus visits the Americas and again his eyes began to get all teary and he said that he knew that the Book of Mormon was true. He recognized the whisperings of the Holy Ghost and we´ve seen a change in him! I know there is a converting power that comes from reading the Book of Mormon. It helps us come to know Jesus Christ and understand the Atonement. I also know that God has given us talents and we should use them in sharing the gospel.</div>

<div>
This week, I have been focusing on being more grateful. Sometimes, when things don´t go as we planned we get upset and start questioning ¿Why? Sometimes we feel that we don´t have any success with our plans and goals. </div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
A greater faith in Jesus Christ and more gratitude for the things that we have will help us see how we are already beginning to have success. The world will seem brighter and we will be more aware of the little daily miracles in our path. I challenge you all to give a prayer of gratitude at the end of each day.</div>

Today we travelled to Los Angeles. I had some cavities that I needed to have filled and all the other Hermanas from our house had doctors appointments. Los Angeles is really cool. I kind of miss living in a big city. Angol is really pretty but it´s a little more tranquillo (quiet). I´m currently writing as I drool (from the freezing)... LOL! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We walked up the mountain to look for some less active members and part member families. We found a family and they have a HUGE garden full of fruit trees. One of the daughters ran into the house and came back with plastic bags and told us to take all the fruit that we wanted! We brought back fresh peaches, plums, tomatoes, chile peppers, and cabbage. We'll be eating well this week! We took a picture with their Grandpa (he´s the pioneer of his family) He´ll be turning 99 years old! </div>
<div>
Incredible!</div>

We had an amazing conference with Elder Bednar this week. WOW! He talked about how we need to learn with faith and teach with the Spirit. Our job is to create an atmosphere where we can invite the Spirit. We are not the real teachers. What we say cannot get inside of a person and inspire them to change. Only the Holy Ghost can bring the message to their hearts. Elder Bednar has a way to teach that helps open up the hearts of people and get them involved. He always asks questions that give people the oportunidad de compartir (opportunity to share) their testimonies and listen to the Holy Ghost. Hermana Stone and I have made it our goal to develop this way of teaching. It´s the way Jesus taught! :) </div>

The Bishopric is so cool here! They got together and made all the missionary lunch for after la obra misional (missionary work) meeting. They´re always supporting us and giving us suggestions on how we can help our investigators. There is a lot of unity between the members and the missionaries here that I have never seen before. I wish that all the wards could work in the same way! We would see a great increase in success .</div>

We are currently teaching a girl named Christina. She is very smart and asks deep and profound questions. She also reminds me a lot of Grace because she loves watching anime and listening to K-Pop. We changed our house to an apartment in the same block as the bishop's. The problem with old house is that everyone knew where we lived and some tried to enter the house at night. Do not worry! I never felt like we were in any danger, nor Hermana Stone, but at least we are safe and sound in an apartment now. The bishopric of El Mirador and Germany (outlying areas), the leaders of the area and a group of members came to help us move. We had everything in the other house in about an hour and a half. Our neighbors in the apartment next door helped us put together the bunkbeds and carry stuff up the stairs. I would say everyone had a good workout because our apartment is on the fourth floor! LOL!<br />

<br />
We did a lot of searching for new people to teach this week. It's interesting to look back and see how things have changed. I used to hate to contact people and knocking on doors. Now I love it! It is the only way we can find people who are hoping and praying to find the Gospel and people that Heavenly Father has prepared!<br />
<br />
<br />
The bishop asked me to give a talk on Sunday. I based it on 2 amazing General Conference talks,"Is It Still Wonderful To You?" and "Are You Sleeping Through the Restoration?"<br />
<br />
<a href="https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2015/04/is-it-still-wonderful-to-you?lang=eng">https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2015/04/is-it-still-wonderful-to-you?lang=eng</a><br />

<br />
Sometimes we can fall into a routine and lose the wonder that the Gospel brings us. We become indifferent to the blessings and happiness in living the principles that Jesus taught. Do you feel there is something missing is your life? Do you feel that maybe church is not working for you? I invite you to read or watch one of these talk and to think about what you can do to improve your life and fill the empty spaces that you may currently have within your heart.<br />
<br />
Love you all lots! <3<br />

<div dir="ltr">
Wow! Cambios esta semana. (Transfers this week!)<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I was a little apprehensive to come to this sector. I had heard a lot of great things about El Mirador and en verdad (in truth), this is the best ward ever! It is in every way a missionary´s dream come true! The obispado (bishopric) has a lot of fire for la obra missional (missionary work) and they really support us in the work. The very first day we had a meeting with the bishopric and they shared the vision that they have here . Afterwards, the Bishop gave us all ¨New Cambio (transfer)Blessings.¨ It was very inspired because I was planning on asking him to give me a blessing that day. I really want to focus these last two cambios (transfers) and I felt I needed a bit of fortaleza (strength/fortification) to reach my goal. I am so thankful for the priesthood and the blessings it brings to our lives! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
My knew companion is Heramana Stone. She´s from Idaho, and is almost 20 years old. She´s a trained professional singer (sings classically) and she loves a lot of the things I do (being outdoors, music, swimming, running). She came to the mission the same time as Hermana Bentley so I´m her first companion after her training. She´s an awesome missionary and speaks Spanish really well! I´m excited to see what this cambio (transfer) will bring. </div>

<div>
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1687587318" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ"><span style="color: #222222;">Sunday</span></span></span> was very interesting. Hermana Stone and I are they only ones in the ward that play the piano and they asked me right away to play the piano. Do you know how long it´s been since I played the piano? More than a year!!! With a lot of prayers we got by just fine :) My companion and I were asked last minute by the Bishop to perform a musical number. We decided on ¨All Creatures of Our God and King." Even though we have never sang together, it turned out pretty well. I´m so happy that we can sing in 2 part harmony! xD</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
There is a different spirit here in the ward. We can feel the energy from the leaders and the love they have for the members and missionary work... and it´s contagious. I hope that every ward can have the vision to share the gospel and help their fellow hermanos y hermanas (brothers and sisters) come back to church.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Little fact... the accent here is very different! Muy campesino (very peasant). I have over a year in Chile and there are times when I don´t have a clue what the people are saying, jajaj! With time I´m sure I´ll get used to it! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This morning, the bishopric and their families made a HUGE breakfast for us. We ate pancakes, French toast, waffles with homemade blackberry jam, eggs, sandwiches, chocolate milk and orange juice. We were rolling out of there afterwards! I don´t think I´ll eat until <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1687587319" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ"><span style="color: #222222;">tomorrow</span></span></span>!</div>

Buenas tardes mis queridos! (Good afternoon my dear ones!)<br />

<div>
<br /></div>
So....we had cambios (transfers) this week! I´ll be leaving my beloved "hija" en Maquehue ("daughter" in Maquehue) and I´ll be leaving for Angol. It´s pretty cool because for a long time now I´ve been feeling that I was going to serve there. Hermana Pemberton will be the new companion of Hermana Bentley! My first companion is now the companion of mi hija (daughter)! How cool is that! <br />
<br /></div>
I´m sad to leave this sector because we´re teaching some really great people and we´ve gained a lot of confidence with the ward. They´ve grown to be a part of me...a part of my family. The Ormeño family was crying on the phone this morning when we called to tell them the news. They´re like our parents here. We´ve been working with their son these past few months, trying to help reactivate him. These past two Sundays he´s attended church! We´ve seen a lot of miracles, Hermana Bentley and I. However, I can´t wait to see what the new sector will bring! I know there are people waiting for us! Amo mi Salvador. Amo la obra missional! ( I love my Saviour. I love missionary work!)<br />
<br /></div>
This week Nelly came to church with her grandson. It was such a spiritual testimony meeting--an answer to my prayers--She said that all the people spoke so softly but all their words pierced her to the heart and that she had never felt so peaceful before. Then she promptly declared that she was going to attend ¨si o si¨ (like - no matter what) the <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_642919653" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ"><span style="color: #222222;">next Sunday</span></span></span>. Nelly really is great. We can see her changing and see her testimony in Jesus Christ growing. <br />
<br /></div>
We´ve really grown close, the other sisters and I in the house. The other night we had a FHE (family home evening) after planning for the next day and ate Churrascos (Chilean Hamburger) and ice cream and we made a big blender full of fresh fruit juice. The fruit here is very abundant and cheap! You can buy 2 kilos of kiwis or peaches for 2 dollars! <br />
<br /></div>
Love you all lots! Until next week!<br />
<br /></div>

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Está semana era una semana muy caluroso! Oops! está en español (This is in Spanish!) Bueno (good), this week was really hot! But I can´t complain because who will know how many times I´ll be able to disfrutar (enjoy) a climate like this in Canada. </div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
Today, we had a huge combined zone activity and we played Quidditch! It was a lot of fun! A little bit like basketball but you run around with a broom. There was also a snitch... a pig dressed in a yellow shirt! The snitch was released near the end of a match and the seekers had to run around and try to tackle it to the ground. I think they should have greased up the pig... it would have made it a little more difficult! Hahaha! (Note: no pigs were hurt in the playing of Quidditch!)</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div>
Our leaders are really pushing that we practice or ¨role play¨ everyday during studies. It´s really cool to see how the Spirit works during role playing because every time we practice, we end up running into a similar situation later on in the day that we made up in the morning. One of these instances was Juan Antonio. Hermana Bentley said we would find a man... kinda jokingly and we went along with the role play. Later on, we knocked on a door and found Juan Antonio. We shared the message of the Restoration and he has a sincere desire to pray and to know if it is true. We gave him the nickname ¨Bishop Juan¨ because he was joking around and said ¨Who knows? Maybe one day I´ll be bishop of the chapel.¨ Hahahah! His comment is going to be very ironic when he gets baptized. ;)</div>
<div>
<br />It´s cool to see the change that is taking effect in Neli. She said the other day she had a panic attack when she realized that she had forgotten to pray. She said she wants to change her life around and develop good habits so that she can feel closer to Heavenly Father. </div>
<div>
<br />This week is the last week Hermana Bentley and I have together. :( We have cambios (transfers) on the 9th and I´m pretty sure I´m heading to another zone to wrap up my mission. I´m so excited to see what will happen and who will be our new companions. I´ll be sad to leave but I´m willing to go wherever the Lord sends me!</div>
<div>
<br />Love y´all lots! </div>

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I feel like this week has been very long but very short at the same time.<br />
<div>
Wed - We went to eat at a Japanese restaurant. Hermana Lockling (former companion) and Hermana Rowden (friend serving in the same mission from home) accompanied us. They´re companions right now. The food is pretty authentic. I´m pretty sure (LOL!) because the family there is from Japan. It was really cool to hear the waitress talk in perfect Spanish with all the Chilean slang and jargon. We ate a really good Japanese curry with chicken!</div>

Today we went to Ruizá family house and made pizza Argentina style! The Argentines are known for their Italian food (there´s a lot of Italian influence). They put eggs on their pizza! It was a little weird but I can´t complain. It tasted good! We made the sauce and crust and baked it in Hermana Ruiz´s industrial oven.</div>

This week we participated in the first world wide capacitacion (training) for missionaries. It was the best! It helped answer all of my questions! As I´m winding down to the end of my mission, I really want to give it my all and fine tune the skills that I´ve learned. Elder Bednar realizes that our purpose is to create an atmosphere where the Spirit can dwell and invite people to act. As they act, they will receive their own spiritual experiences. </div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
This week we found a family of Adventistas (Adventists). The mom´s name is Viviana and she had a lot of interest to know what the ¨Mormons¨ believe because her aunt and cousin are members of the church and they´re always inviting them to visit church! We shared the Restauracion (Restoration) and that families can be forever. It was magical the way the Espiritu (Spirit) filled the room. Tears filled her eyes and she asked us to come back to visit with her, her husband and her children. He has been angry with God since his father passed away and she feels that we can help him find his faith again. Her biggest wish is that her family can grow closer together and closer to Heavenly Father. I know that we can find real peace and happiness through the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and that families can be together forever. </div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
Really lame (I know!) but the connection with the camera refuses to work. I´m as annoyed as you guys are! Three weeks without pics is a long time! I got a new SD card though! :)</div>

I read this great talk on the Atonement! I invite you all to read it! <a href="https://www.lds.org/liahona/2008/03/the-atonement-of-jesus-christ?lang=eng" target="_blank"><span style="color: #1155cc;">https://www.lds.org/<wbr></wbr></span>liahona/2008/03/the-atonement-<wbr></wbr>of-jesus-christ?lang=eng</a></div>

Love you lots!</div>

Hola mis familia y amigos (Hello my family and friends)!</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
This week we worked a fool! Por fin (At last/alas), we had a full week without interruptions of conferences or holidays. </div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
The other day, we didn´t have any citas (appointments), so we decided to pass by futures and have a day of tracting (proselyting). Normally we do a ¨called inspirada¨ where we pray to receive inspiration of where we should go to find the people that Heavenly Father has prepared for us to teach. It didn´t work. We tried again and it didn´t work. I thought something was wrong with us but we put our trust in the Lord and left without knowing where we should go. We contacted people all day, praying a menudo (often) to receive direction. We found very good people to talk to but we still hadn´t entered a house to teach. We prayed to receive direction and we started to walk. I didn´t know where we were going but I felt that someone was pushing us along. We finally knocked on the final door of an apartment building in the upper most floor. A woman named Olaya opened up and let us in immediately. She started sharing her story and I couldn´t believe it! This women has been prepared for the moment that we knocked on her door! She is sick with a heart disease and because of her trials she has great faith in Heavenly Father. She was asking questions like, ¨Why are there so many churches? Out of all the churches, which church is the true church? and more! It was a truly humbling experience to learn that we don´t always know what we need to do but we should continue to move forward with faith.</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
This experience reminded me of the prophet Nephi in the Book of Mormon when he said he entered into Jerusalem not knowing what he was suppose to do beforehand. 1 Nephi 4:5-6</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
<em>(5 And it was by night; and I caused that they should hide themselves without the walls. And after they had hid themselves, I, Nephi, crept into the city and went forth towards the house of Laban.</em><br />
<div uri="/scriptures/bofm/1-ne/4.6">
<em><span class="verse">6 </span>And I was led by the Spirit, not knowing beforehand the things which I should do.)</em></div>
</div>
<div>
He followed the Spirit and Heavenly Father provided the means of completing the task he had given Nephi. </div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
I invite you all to move forward with faith and in prayer and I know that Heavenly Father will direct you for good.</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
I´m so sorry but this week I won´t be sending any pictures either because I have to buy a new SD card for my camera. Next week I promise!</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
Love you all lots!</div>

<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_667539090" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ"><span style="color: #222222;">On Monday</span></span></span> we went to the beach with the Ruiz family. It was the best! We stopped by the biggest museum of trains in the world. It was cool because you could climb up into the engines and take a bunch of pictures. There was a restaurant in one of the booths but we didn´t stop to eat there. When we got to the beach, it was breath-taking! The sky seemed to roll on forever! And to the right, there was a big cliff about 50 ft tall that was beaten smooth by the waves. We took cool pictures on the beach then climbed to the top of the cliff and snapped photos of the skyline, the mountains and rivers. Apparently barges from Japan pass by at times but we didn´t see any when we were there. </div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
Despite all the pictures we took, I´m afraid I can´t send any......the cyber cafe erased all of my pictures while I was transferring them from my SD card to my pendrive! Nothing was saved... I´ll see if I can find some pictures from my companions. </div>

<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_667539091" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ"><span style="color: #222222;">On Tuesday</span></span></span>, we travelled to Concè (Concepcion) for Return and Report. It`s a conference for all the newbies and their trainers to see how they`re doing and how they`ve progressed. It was great to hear the experiences of other trainers; their concerns, joys and questions. I realized they everyone worries if they`re doing a good job training. I want Hermana Bentley to have the best experience ever and help prepare her the most that I can in the last 4 weeks that we have together. For lunch we ate Hawaiian Haystacks (YUM!). President Bluth and his wife drove us back to our sector after Return and Report. What a blessing because we didn´t have to suffer through the heat of the bus for 5 hours! We reached Padre Las Casas in time to visit a few investigators. </div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
The other day we were walking in the street and a drunk man was walking down the other side yelling ¨CHINA! KUNG FU! HAI-WAAH! and sending flying kicks into the air. Chile never ceased to amaze me! </div>
<div>
<br />
I was reading a little book of inspirational stories this week and I found one that I would like to share with you all it´s called ¨The Starfish Thrower¨<br />
<br />
<br />
<em>Once upon a time, there was an old man who used to go to the ocean to do his writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach every morning before he began his work. Early one morning, he was walking along the shore after a big storm had passed and found the vast beach littered with starfish as far as the eye could see, stretching in both directions. </em><br />
<em></em><br />
<em>Off in the distance, the old man noticed a small boy approaching. As the boy walked, he paused every so often and as he grew closer, the man could see that he was occasionally bending down to pick up an object and throw it into the sea. The boy came closer still and the man called out, “Good morning! May I ask what it is that you are doing?”</em><br />
<em></em><br />
<em>The young boy paused, looked up, and replied “Throwing starfish into the ocean. The tide has washed them up onto the beach and they can’t return to the sea by themselves,” the youth replied. “When the sun gets high, they will die, unless I throw them back into the water.”</em><br />
<em>The old man replied, “But there must be tens of thousands of starfish on this beach. I’m afraid you won’t really be able to make much of a difference.”</em><br />
<em></em><br />
<em>The boy bent down, picked up yet another starfish and threw it as far as he could into the ocean. Then he turned, smiled and said, “It made a difference to that one!”</em><br />
<em></em><br />
<br />
Sometimes we think that we can´t make a difference; that our efforts won´t change anything and there are too many things we have to do. But every small act of kindness has an impact. Every person has been given the ability to shape your future and the future of others. Maybe on a world scale it doesn´t feel like your act of kindness has accomplished anything but in the world of the one person you helped... it makes all the difference. <br /><br />Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God and by small and simple things are great things come to pass!</div>
<div>
<br />Love you all <3<br />

<div>
Today we´re heading to the beach with a family... so I´m afraid that we don´t have very much time to write today. </div>

<div>
As we begin the New Year, it looks like the leaders of the Church would like us to focus on the basic doctrines of the gospel. I read an amazing talk by Elder Holland about the trinidad (Trinity/Godhead) in the Liahona (Church magazine) this week. I invite you all to read it! It´s very enlightening and helps us to understand why it is important to know the true nature of God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. If we don´t understand the nature of our Heavenly Father, how can we understand our divine nature and our potential?</div>

Mom's note.... Sorry there are no pictures this week. She is having difficulties uploading pictures because of viruses that constantly erase her SD card from the public computers she writes home from. Needless to say, she is very frustrated about it. </div>

On Christmas Eve, we went to the house of the Ormeño family. We ate a dinner of BBQ Lamb and potato salad. They baked us cookies and talked about the different Christmas traditions that some countries have. Here in Chile they open their presents on Christmas Eve. They all have BBQs and throw big parties in their backyards. It´s cool that they get to celebrate Christmas in the summer. </div>

This week we had a lot of cool things happen. We prayed to find someone to teach and found a youth named Felipe. He´s really intelligent and, to my companions delight, speaks English perfectly. Right away he accepted the challenge to be baptized and has a lot of interest to learn more. He wants to help his family and his brothers find more happiness. </div>
<div>

<div>
Sofía, a 15 year old joven (youth) came to church again with her sister Consuelo! Yesterday they told us that they love coming to church because they feel like they´re in a family. Sofía told me that she wants to serve a mission! How cools is that?! We´ll be talking with her mom (she actually gave her as a reference to us) <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1140835938" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ"><span style="color: #222222;">tomorrow</span></span></span>. <br />Yesterday I was thinking of New Years resolutions and what I want to improve, keep doing or change this year. I was reading a talk by Elder Holland called, ¨Lot´s Wife¨ It´s a really great talk that reminds us of the importance to learn from the past, but not to dwell or yearn for the past, that the best is yet to come. </div>

(Hello family and friends!)<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This week was really cool! Well, as you know, I´ve been having a little trouble with my foot. It´s a pain to walk on it but despite that, sigo adelante (onward I go)! <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1285065586" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ"><span style="color: #222222;">On Thursday</span></span></span>, we went to the hospital to try and see what the problem was. When we got there, they said that they couldn´t take the ectography (how ever you spell it) and that I had to go to another hospital. We ran all over Temuco but no one could see me until the <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1285065587" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ"><span style="color: #222222;">5th of January</span></span></span> (grrrr!) so we decided to put our trust in the Lord. I received una bendicion de salud y consuelo (a blessing of health and comfort) and we decided to start a fast. Then we went to work!</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
The pain now is bearable and we saw a lot of miracles. One was Johanna. We knocked on her door through inspiration a few weeks ago but we couldn´t find her again. This week we felt that we should try to pass by again. She was home and we had the most spiritual lesson. She said that we were an answer to her prayers. She has accepted a date to be baptized! Yay! </div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
This week we also had our ward Christmas concert. We sang in the choir and at the last minute they asked me to sing Silent Night in French! (Ooh boy! :s) More to my embarrassment, I was having a case of laryngitis and it was really hard to sing. After that experience, a sister sang a song called ¨His Hands¨. I don´t think there was a dry eye in the crowd. It was a great reminder of the Atonement and everything Jesus has done for us. It makes me sad to think of all the things that Jesus had to go through. In truth, it is the greatest demonstration of love. I hate to think of how many drops of blood He had to shed for me. Because of this, I want to be the best I can be. Alma 7:11-12</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
<em><span style="background-color: #ffd966;">And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.</span></em><div class="highlight" uri="/scriptures/bofm/alma/7.12">
</div>
<div class="highlight" uri="/scriptures/bofm/alma/7.12">
<em><span style="background-color: #ffd966;">And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities.</span></em></div>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
I invite you to read this scripture and meditate what the Atonement has done for you in your life. </div>

This week we had a big Christmas activity for the whole mission. It was great to see everyone, especially my ¨Mom¨ or trainer from my first days in the mission. This was her last cambio (transfer - 6 weeks). I can´t believe she´s going home. It feels like yesterday I was in my training and we were walking the streets of Curacautín. </div>

<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
At activity, we started with a conference. We had the pleasure to enjoy about 20 minutes of Christmas carols played by a 4 string quartet (What talent we have in the mission!) It was so beautiful! There were tears in my eyes as I reflected on the birth of Christ... but, there wasn´t a dry eye in the room when Sister Bluth shared a Christmas story called ¨The Tale of the 3 Trees.¨ </div>

This week I went to the hospital. Don´t worry I´m not gravely ill! I have tendinitis in my foot (yay) and it hurts a lot to walk. They gave me some meds to help with the pain, to wait it out and see if it gets better but...it hasn´t. I´ll be going soon to take some x-rays and other exams. At first I was a little upset because I can´t work as much as I want to but then I remembered that everything happens for a reason and there is obviously something I need to learn from this experience. Maybe it´ll help us learn how to use our time more effectively. </div>

This week we had a miracle. We were contacting with no success so we decided to pray and ask for guidance. When we finished the prayer, 3 doors later, we found a teen named Sofia. She shared that there were problems in her family. At times she's felt very alone and wanted to know what was the whole purpose in life. We shared our testimonies and the Plan of Happiness. Her eyes were shining the whole time and exclaimed that she wanted us to share with all the family what she had just learned. We´re going back to visit her and her family <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1981998948" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">tomorrow</span></span>! Well, I´m running out of time! I´ll hope you all are enjoying the Chirstmas season. I invite you all the share a bit of the love we feel during this time with your neighbours and friends. Invite them to a church activity, send them a link of a Mormon Message, gift a Book of Mormon or, share your testimony of the Saviour. These are just some ways you can share the gospel this Christmas season.</div>

This week we had grand intercambios (big exchange) with all the sisters in our Zone. And, I got paried up with my old companion Hermana Lockling! It was great to serve with her again and see how we´ve both grown in this short while. I really love her like a sister. She´d make a great sister in law ¨wink wink.¨ Hahaha!</div>

After the intercambio, (the next day) mi hijita, (daughter = new missionary companion- Hermana Bentley) told me that she wasn´t feeling too well. Poor thing. With the change in water and food and everything, she got sick. We ended up waiting in the hospital all day <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1344188966" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">Saturday</span></span> to figure out what was wrong. She´s all good now. She just has an infection and the antibiotics are working quite well. Besides, while we were waiting in the hospital, she taught me sign language! I´m so stoked to be able to use what I learned with the family. Well, for now, I´ll at least be able to sign my name, the names of my family members and to pray. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Hermana Bentley is learning Spanish so fast. It really amazes me to see the change is such a short time period. The gift of tongues is real! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Before the intercambio we had a capacitacion de Hermanas (training for Sisters) with a focus on the Atonement and developing the attributes of Christ. What really impacted me was a quotation from a talk that asked ¨Who do you want to be? Have you planned on what you want to become?¨ I had read the talk before, but I really began to reflect on the changes I´ve gone through in the past year. I can say that I´m not the same person. I have a different view of life. Really, I know that the hard times that we go through really shouldn´t get us down because they help us become stronger. And in the Plan of Happiness, the time that we have here in this life is very short. Make the most of life. Find joy in the journey. We´re meant to be happy! :) </div>
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
I couldn´t be happier than I am right now. There is nothing that brings more lasting happiness than the knowledege that we are all children of a loving Heavenly Father and to live in a way that He wants us to live. I love the mission! I love the Lord! I love the Gospel! </div>

<span style="color: #222222; font-family: "arial" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12.8px;">So I´ve heard some complaints that I haven´t given a lot of detail acerca de mi hija (about my daughter) (ie. Mom.. I never said I was an author, lol) So I´ll give you a little more details. She´s from USA, New Mexico. Hermana Bentley has a HUGE family. 6 brothers and 2 sisters! Her and I are quite alike in many ways. We´re both free spirits, hippies. We love dancing and love the same music. She also studied in BYU Provo for a year before she came out to the mission. She has a pure love for sharing the gospel and has no fear talking to everyone (or doesn´t show it). Her first day she asked me if it was ok to contact people on the buses, even though she didn´t understand them very well. I told her to go for it and we contacted everyone. I love that she doesn´t let her fear drive her. She´s going to be an amazing missionary. What am I saying! She´s already an amazing missionary!</span></span></div>

<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
<span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1035362415" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">On Saturday</span></span>, we had fasted and prayed to help us find people who were really searching for the truth and to be more sensitive to the promptings of the Spirit. As a result, we found many wonderful people, especially Joanna. She´s a single mom of 3 kids. One is 19 years old, one 11 and the other 5 (he reminds me of Ori, LOTS of energy!). She says that she´s been searching for a church where she can help raise her kids and fill the empty space that she feels in her life. Actually, a lot of people that we´ve been finding have mentioned the same thing.</div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
</div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
What causes this emptiness? </div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
I know that it´s the separation we feel from our Heavenly Father. How can you fill the emptiness? How can you feel closer to Heavenly Father? I know that nothing fills the emptiness quite like living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For those who aren´t members, I invite you to talk to the missionaries. What they share will change your life for the better. For those members: Do you feel this vacío (vacuum)? What is your attitude like when you go to church? Are you reading the Book of Mormon/Bible everyday? Are you praying everyday? </div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
This week we had a Christmas activity in the Zone. We built candy houses and did a ¨White elephant¨gift exchange. It´s when you gift random things from the house, but you wrap it up so you can´t tell what it is. Then you put all the gifts in a pile and pick one out. It turned out really funny. One of the sisters received a gift of boxer shorts and dress socks. Hahaha! </div>
